Film & TV Actor
Curtis Caldwell is an actor and storyteller looking to work with passionate filmmakers in hopes of creating compelling and interesting characters that speak to an audience in a memorable way.
His acting journey began unexpectedly…
…when a friend convinced him to audition for Shakespeare in the Park's Romeo & Juliet as a fun way to hangout the summer before leaving for college. Thinking he’d get a small part, he was overwhelmed when he landed the role of Mercutio, igniting a passion for performance that eventually took him to New York City. There, Curtis gained some traction, landing a few indie film roles as well as a lead in an Off-Off Broadway play. However, before this momentum could take him to the NYC stage, a violent mugging landed him in the hospital. Curtis was forced to return home to recover and reevaluate how to pursue his dream.
Refocusing, Curtis earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, while still performing in local theater and film in his spare time. After five years of teaching—two in 4th grade and three as an ESL Specialist—Curtis felt his creative drive reawaken. Now based in Pittsburgh, he's dedicated to pursuing filmmaking full-time, collaborating with other creatives to develop compelling films and series.
